Artisans is in the process of producing a variety videos depicting the artistic process; our first releases are “From Beam to Bowl” and “From Brush to Bowl.” These track a time lapse of the creation of two unique bowls, the first from a 100+ year old re-purposed historic beam and the second from a 70lb manzanita root ball.
Our video productions are now done in house for educational purposes. We are illustrating the ability of artists to explore re-purposed and sustainable materials as well as showing the skills and process behind our work. We plan to display the creation of pieces in spalted wood that would otherwise simply return to the soil, more reclaimed material, and the use of salvaged river wood, root balls, and other random finds. Some of the most beautiful forms come from material that may otherwise be disguised.
